As of October 1, 2024, Foster Care to Success has transitioned to Support For Success. Embrace Alabama Kids has taken over the program and is ready to assist you to ensure a smooth transition to support your future success with your ETV funds and Fostering Hope scholarships.
Whether you have previously received ETV funds and / or a Fostering Hope scholarship, or you are a new applicant, each student needs to apply for funding using the application link below. Eligibility requirements for each program are also listed below:
ETV Requirements
- In Foster Care status on 18th birthday OR Kinship-guardianship/adoption after age of 16
- Youth eligibility is verified by AL State DHR
- Must be younger than 26 at the start of the semester / term
- Making adequate academic progress as determined by the institution (for ongoing award)
- Has completed the FASFA - If the student is not eligible for funding through FASFA, they are not eligible for ETV.
- Must re-apply annually
Fostering Hope Requirements
- In Foster Care status on date of HS graduation / GED completion OR Kinship-guardianship/adoption after age of 14
- Youth eligibility is verified by AL State DHR
- Must be younger than 26 at the start of the semester / term
- Making adequate academic progress
- Has completed the FASFA
- 50 volunteer hours per semester or works 5 hours per week (for ongoing award)
